Prepositions of place

Preposiciones de lugar

Prepositions of place

IN = dentro
ON = encima/sobre
NEXT TO = al lado
BEHIND = detrás
BETWEEN = entre
OVER = por encima
UNDER = debajo
IN FRONT OF = en frente
OPPOSITE = en frente

¿En qué se diferencian in front of y opposite?

The teacher is in front of the blackboard.

The cat is opposite the bird.

Where is the cat? = ¿Dónde está el gato?
The cat is opposite the bird. = El gato está en frente del pájaro.

Where is the teacher? = ¿Dónde está la profesora?
The teacher is in front of the blackboard.

- Where is the bee?
- The bee is between two flowers.
   La abeja está entre dos flores.

- Where is the mouse?
- The mouse is on the cheese.
   El ratón está encima del queso.

- Where is the fish?
- The fish is in the aquarium.

- Where is the cat?
- The cat is behind the wall.
   El gato está detrás del muro.

- Where is the bird?

   El pájaro está por encima del árbol.
